it's time to see my FD go :(

well.. i'm certainly in a financial fix right now. So i'm selling my FD. But not on here, I'm in quite a bit of debt, and my income is close to zilch right now. (started my own business with my friend). So for those of you who have seen my FD knows how hard this is for me. What's going to replace it? my company car that i don't have to pay for. When I start making more money, I'm going right back into a FD. Though I doubt it'll be quite some time before I can get anything close to mine right now... unless i just straight up import one, but for california, that's going to be very difficult.

Anyway the reason why i'm not listing on here is obvious:
Everyone here is poor like me.. So if you know of some rich person or anything, please let me know!!

for all of you to remember her :(

TMadlem84 03-28-07 11:20 AM

Wow, nice car.

Not that I'm buying... but how much you looking for (just out of curiosity)?

thats one amazing fd, how much are you selling her for

purerx7 03-28-07 11:22 AM

nooooooooooo, this was my top 5 favorite fd... their must be another way.... list anything and everything on ebay you would be surprised what people will pay for stuff that you thought had no value.

maduhbee 03-28-07 11:26 AM

by the way, it's a 94 R2 base

DomFD3S 03-28-07 11:28 AM

Wow...that is clean...

maduhbee 03-28-07 11:29 AM

i'm starting my list high on auto trader (i know i wont get it) like 29k but i'm hoping to hit around 25k. Like i said, no one on here would pay that much for a FD. So i'm going around to every other forum and hoping i can hit what i want!

dhahlen 03-28-07 11:53 AM

That is a beautiful car....

Goodluck with the sale. It is beautiful but you will not see 25k for it without a LARGE stroke of luck. I just hope your a not in a rush and end up letting it go for to low. On the upside, it is the right time of year to be selling.

cesarx7 03-28-07 02:34 PM

Damn, that is a nice FD. Good luck with your business, I hope it's worth it...

Maduhbee,

DO NOT SELL THIS CAR!!! Repeat after me: I will not sell my car, I will not sell my car, I will not sell my car!!!

1. You have created a work of art - she is beautiful - there will never be another like her.

2. Instead of selling her for $25-29K you can apply for a couple of credit cards - go to your bank and ask about a business credit card, get a small business loan to buy the company car, get a home equity line of credit on your house, or hell ask mom and dad for a loan!!

Make sure you have exhausted all avenues before you put her on the market.

Best of luck.

Super 77

i agree w/ everyone that ideally he shouldn't sell the car, but if you have to start living on credit cards, it's probably time to let the car go. we all have to prioritize sometime in our lives, and unfortunately that requires having to sacrifice some things.

maduhbee 03-28-07 04:27 PM

i'm living off of credit cards already, and i'm already hurting my credit... hence, i cannot live anymore like this, and i've been exhausting my options.. Thank you for the compliments, and i really do hope it will work out for me.

bursty 03-28-07 04:29 PM

such a sick car!

RX7LINK 03-28-07 05:03 PM

hurry! buy some lotto tickets!!!

jokes a side, i'm sure u're more bummed than any of us that u have to let ur pride and joy go. i'm sure u know u'll regret it, but u gotta do what u gotta do.

i wish some alternate opportunity arises for you and everything works out. =) good luck

Super 77 is right, you will regret it if you sell it. I had to refinance my house two years ago to keep mine. may not be the best financial move but it keeps me happy.
If you have to sell it, try not to sell it to some punk teenager that is just going to wreck it. It's way to nice.
Good luck

JayShadow 03-28-07 05:36 PM

I hope the business goes well, Very clean Fd.

preludesh2000 03-28-07 05:48 PM

how many miles are on her?

sucks you have to sell it, but good luck with the business, and wish you the best in finding another down the road

Although this poll has never been conducted on people 5 or 10 years afterward.

Madubee, good luck and I'm sure your next business attempt will be much more successful. I agree, don't sell it to a wild-eyed schmuck with money.

Wow... such great advice...

The guy is doing the RIGHT THING by selling an expensive toy that he doesn't NEED right now... & people are telling him to instead, keep a toy (let's face it, the RX7 is JUST a big toy, as it isn't practical) that he can't afford & run up the credit card bills??

That way in 2 years he will have to sell the car to pay off the debt-collectors that keep harassing him for all the credit card bills he has racked up.

He is making the RESPONSIBLE, ADULT decision here.

I know it's hard to sell something that means so much to you... but you gotta do what you gotta do...

GoodfellaFD3S 03-28-07 09:44 PM

I'd rather be a happy, irresponsible adult than a miserable unhappy one ;)

fdpocketrocket 03-28-07 10:02 PM

found your autotrader, the posting is a bit bare. good pics but should mention more about mods, etc.

good luck, sucks that you have to sell it. best of luck. very nice car.

maduhbee 03-28-07 10:27 PM

yeah autotrader didn't let me post more than 150 CHARACTERS. not even WORDS but characters. Autotrader is the worst! but anyway i wanted to say that i've exhausted all my options, and this is my final straw... If my business takes off, the first car i'm going to buy is an FD. I'm going to try and put it back the way i had it (spirit-r stuff) but that's gonna be even more difficult now.

hell maybe i can even import one! (gotta stay positive some how) but this is one of the most painful moments in my life:

first letting go my first FD (my dream car)
and then being in this shitty financial fix...

fdpocketrocket 03-28-07 10:42 PM

I dodn't know autotrader was so restrictive :(

You should post on the For Sale forum, with detailed information about your FD ... how long you've had it for, mods you've done and approximate cost of them, condition, compression test results, etc.

If you have pre-99 spec pics of your FD (I'm assuming you did the conversion), you should post them for comparison and indicate if any original parts are available as well ...

Direct any interested parties to the FS posting via e-mail link. Some of the information is overkill to those familiar with RX7s, but it never hurts. Just shows you're thorough, especially people outside of this forum or those just starting to get in to RX7s who have the finances to get one.

Once again, good luck. I would love to do a 99spec conversion on mine but I'm quite content keeping it stock as well :)

Hope you sort out your finances and business ventures and be able to get back to the FD scene in the near future.

spandy 03-29-07 02:39 AM

Is that piano black?

maduhbee 03-29-07 02:42 AM

jonesfromindia 03-29-07 02:56 AM

you can always get another one. maybe even buy it back down the road.....

you know, you're the voice of reason.

but i wouldn't sell my car if I was dead broke and got kicked out of my apartment and had a buck fifty in my wallet. but that's just me.

J_J 03-29-07 06:20 AM

It's just a car. Sell it to whoever will pay the most and then buy another one later.

Hmm. that is the boat I am in. just got laid off. broke up with the fiance (long story, but I should have left a year ago) and have no money. But I am not selling my stuff...... at least not yet. oh, and since I don't have a job, I can't keep the apt if she left, so I get the boot and she gets the apt.

Yeah, because pristine modded FDs like his are pretty common here in the states. Madubee, just buy the latest Hyundai Tiburon in a couple of years. It's just a car :uhh:

Seriously I just sent him a PM and I happen to be in the market for a nice black r2 so maybe we can both get what we want :ylsuper:

ptrhahn 03-29-07 09:13 AM

True, but if Fritz offers it, he'll actually pay it and take the car no muss, no fuss... which doesn't sound like many of the sale stories I've heard with these cars!
