installed greddy elbow and type-s bov, only 5psi

any ideas?

checked for air leaks twice (about to do it for the third time). vacuum line from the UIM to the bov is new so it shouldn't have any cracks in it.

the bov is adjustable (hard <-- --> soft) , i'm gonna gradually adjust it harder after every test run until i get 10psi, if i even do. also gonna try going softer if harder doesn't work.

any help to get this done quicker would be appreciated.
thanks
kris

chek your bov spring. put it as harder u can .
maybe you are leaking boost by the bov or go for a test drive and you can hear if ur bov is leaking.

i tried it very hard, but not as hard as it'll go cause i don't wanna strip the threading on the screw or break anything. still getting around 5psi max.

think i'll try sticking in the stock bov back in and see if i'm getting normal boost...maybe someone can help me diagnose this from there

here's the deal:
sorry if this is a little hard to follow

1. greddy bov + stock bov NOT in place (meaning the hose to the Y-pipe is vented to the atmosphere) = 5psi

2. greddy bov still hooked up + stock bov IN place BUT vaccum line NOT hooked up = 8psi

3. stock set-up (greddy bov unhooked + stock bov IN place and vaccum line hooked up) = 10psi :)

anyone help me work from #2... i'm thinking the hose to the y-pipe should not be vented freely like in #1 so the stock bov closes it up but since the vacuum line is off nothing is actuating it. i'm not totally sure about how the stock bov works but do you think boost is leaking out of the vented vacuum line?

try pluging the hose. If you leave the stock BOV in place but not huck up it will leak also that's why you get the 8 psi

should i plug up the bov hose while it's still connected to the y-pipe?
--or--
take off the hose and plug up the nipple at the y-pipe?

I have the same setup and I have the nipple at the y-pipe capped off and stock bov NOT in place. However, I'm in the process of trying to locate a boost leak myself, not related to this though.

Do that. Plug the nipple. have fun :)
