Idle problems, help

Heres a little run down. I bought the car not running with 60k on the OD. Started the normal trouble shooting and found where someone had droped and bolt in the front turbo and ran the car. Pulled the motor and replaced with a reman, had the turbos rebuilt and reinstalled.
The car has catback, DP, intake, pulleys, vac hose simplification and non seq convertion.
Heres the problem Im having now. The car will crank and idle but sounds like a cammed big block chevy and pours black fuel smoke out the exhuast (VERY RICH) at idle. It revs good under no load but back fires occationally and is still rich and pouring black fuel smoke while reving. Under load it will only build a couple pounds of boost and wont rev over 3500 rpm. And just about everytime I run the car it will foul the plugs or leave them very black with alot of buildup on them.
I have checked for boost leaks and have none. Im wondering if it could be the coil pack or ignitor, 02 sensor or ????? Anyhelp would be great, Thanks.

Have you tested the map sensor to verify it's working (and connected)?

Have you tried to pull any engine codes (not all codes trigger the engine code light)?

I think I have only heard of maybe 1 or 2 cases of an igniter going bad in the time I've been on the forum. It's not usually a problem part.

Also, make sure you have all the grounding points cleaned and tightened. More than one person has had a ground wire cause their care some serious grief.

Sounds like your ECU is in limp mode. Check for any error codes.

Otherwise, the MAP vacuum/boost line could be the cause, or perhaps even very misadjusted TPS?

This is all assuming you have the stock ECU...

The simplified vacuum hose diagram on Robinette's site does not show any connections for the FPR (Fuel Pressure Regulator, attached to firewall side of secondary [top] fuel rail). You either need an aftermarket FPR, connect the FPR to the FPR solenoid, or simply bypass the solenoid and connect the FPR to the little diagonal nipple at the base of the LIM (my recommendation). If the vacuum hose is disconnected from the FPR, then you will run very rich at idle and lean during boost, because the FPR is being operated by ambient pressure instead of manifold pressure.

[edit]The FPR solenoid is listed as (A) in the diagram and has an orange connector. [/edit]
