IC sprayer

A friend was telling me about a mod they performed on a car. It's an IC sprayer that is activated by a WOT switch which basically closes a relay when it sees 4.5V from the TPS. The parts were from spare nitrous parts that they had lying around. The parts list would be a CO2 tank (or water, or nitrous, etc.), some lines, nozzles, and some electrical wiring. So has anyone tried something like this?

They're pretty common on other tuner cars. In short it would help the intercooler cool down the charged air. Alcohol, water, co2 are the more common sprayed.

Summit racing has the NX version:

Ouch, almost 400 dollars for that? Sounds like another DIY project to go on the list.

I installed a DIY kit on my FD a few years ago. I was experiencing high temps during the summer months. I was spraying water using a windshield washer pump. Although it sprayed water on the intercooler, the pump did not provide enough pressure to provide an effective stream. Also, I used the rear window washing fluid tank as the source. I have heard the nitrious works the best...although you will pay a lot more for the kit.
