99 spec front and greddy 2-row FMIC. Front bumper about covers most of the IC...looks like I will by going with aftermarket front end to utilize more surface area. Not looking forward to fiberglass cracks...

yes, I plan to remove the plate when running at the track but not everyday...

Looks good, i agree that lack of IC suface area expossed is something i dont worry about but just wish it could be more. I think my Greddy goes up about 4-6" behind my sock bumper and always wish more of it could be exposed. The 99 spec opening it a tad bit larger but still covers up a great deal of the IC. I wish there could be a happy medium between the 99 spec and a bumper that has a larger opening that didnt ruin the body lines while doing it.

order some 99 oil cooler ducts...the oil cooler side looks silly and the other is too empty. Try to route some cool air to that intake that is sitting in the exhaust path of your radiator.

QUESTION to single 7's: How many of you run a single stock oil cooler?

Exactly, there are much better options with fiberglass...maybe the VIS company will start making replicas of the popular front ends that dont sag or crack.

FYI: They don't make a stock oil cooler duct for the 99 Spec bumper. You can buy one from Feed though. And yes he needs another oil cooler in there. Want to buy mine? :)

no ducts on 99 oil coolers?

I was just going to say that Mazda Motorsports list them on their site but I'm wrong. They list the '99 brake ducts but not the oil cooler ducts.

Nope, don't ask me why because I don't know. I've got the full 99 spec front end, and I thought I was missing something, for some reason Mazda must have decided that the bigger intake opening was enough.

I want to go to twin 25's with fans on the back. So I don't need to either, but might do it later for the add effect...

I have been trying to select a path to the turbo via the other oil cooler intake....simply cannot route conveniently or, in terms of pressure drop, effectively.

I have stared under the car for some time....radiator is always in the way...btw got the turbo polished pipe today...so that will look better too.

If anyone has some ideas on effective ram air intake piping from the duct please speak up...the only other way would be from the hood and dont want to ruin the lines on the car.

i will say, the engine bay looked better with twins ,m2 intake/polished piping and m2 med ic with carbon duct :(

Really? I've always thought that singles with FMIC look better do to opening up more space. But when you go with a cone filter over a honeycomb style it does get a little tight on space.

Wael El-Dasher told me that he bought a pair of Panspeed ducts for the oil coolers which fit perfectly with the 99 nose. However, I have never seen them.

Based on the text and photos for these parts, I have assumed that the Oill Cooler ducting is intergral

You "assume" incorrectly.....

While Mazda incorporated the brake cooler ducts into the corner sections, the oil coolers no longer have a dedicated duct. The opening on the 99 spec bumper is supposed to direct enough airflow to the oil coolers.

That is why R-Magic makes a set of fiberglass ducts for the 99 spec bumper. They fit similar to the version offered on the 93-95 bumper.

At least if you install the Mazda parts you don't see the ground through the bumper ducts. Plus the air will be directed out the vents behing the front wheels

Check out the pic. The oil cooler ducting is not integral, in fact the site claims it is eliminated as in your posted description.

Chuck at Rotary Extreme is supposedly making "Oil Cooler Ducts" to go with the 99 Spec bumpers. I have ordered them to go with mine, but I'm really not sure what I ordered now...

My bad. I do believe that R-Magic makes them and not Panspeed.
