GEICO since 1990
$1300 for a whole year
27 yrs old with no moving violation since 1994 (speeding)
1990 Chevy Cavalier 2.2 L with 123K miles
1993 R1 with 68+K miles

I have a pretty basic plan...service in my case has always been awesome!

I tried Progressive with the same plan as Geico and Progressive quoted me a rate of $1850 per year.

BlackR1 09-17-01 01:55 PM

Allstate Insurance, Full Coverage
$579, 6 month premium

22 Years Old
One Car
Clean Record

BlackR1 09-17-01 02:04 PM

Ive also been driving for 5 years and am in the same plan that covers the house and my family's cars. We've been with Allstate for house and auto insurance for many many years. Group plans are the way to go.

I dont care if im under my family's plan, and it's not under my name...i'm still paying, and would rather pay less for more insurance, than to pay more, get less, and only have the satisfaction of saying 'its under my name' while getting ass-rammed everymonth :fruit:

BrianK 09-17-01 02:06 PM

I'm paying $636 / 6 months with USAA

I have full coverage (and lots of it, at that). The 7 is listed as a "pleasure vehicle" for me because I have a second car that is listed as my regular vehicle - that lowered my insurance quite a bit. I also have a $500 deductable to bring it down a few extra dollars. No moving violations or speeding tickets since '95.

I do, however, live in Los Angeles county, which is one of the worst cities to live in as far as insurance goes... my premium would be much lower if I lived in, say, Nebraska.

USAA is only available to people working in the armed forces and their dependants.

oh, and I'm 25.

Hell Yea BlackR1

My car is under my moms name and here insurance and I don't live with her anymore. I had to do this because I have many, many, ....., speeding tickets. But I know were you are coming from.
I still pay it, and I would rather pay less for insurance and not have the car in my name ( allows to save for mods), instead of being bent over and raped without vasoline or KY.
:bootyshak :boink:

rx7kelvin 09-17-01 03:50 PM

damn u guys suck.. when my mom worked at state farm(our insurance company) i ask her to get a quote for a 93 rx-7 under my parents.. They both have clean records for like 5 years i think is what they keep back till.. Anyway they told me like 1100 just for my car.. thats like 2400 for an 93 rx-7 a 96 honda accord and a 99 toyota tocoma.. too bad that dosent include our boat..

legendrx7 09-17-01 08:16 PM

$480/ 6 Months w/ AAA. That is for full coverage w/ $500 ded. It is insured as a pleasure vehicle b/c I have a company vehicle that I drive everywhere :) I am 27, not married, clean driving record.

Andrew 09-17-01 09:16 PM

I pay less than $70 each month for my 93 R1, that's as a secondary car under my name. My primary is the 90 TII which is $130 a month. It used to be $101, but I lost my good student discount.

20 years old and a clean record.

whitet777 09-17-01 09:39 PM

I thought I was getting a reasonable rate. I pay $2000/yr for just my 94 FD. I live in Milwaukee, so that should make it higher, but I only have 1 ticket. I am 24. Can you believe my insurance on my 99 Hyundai Tiburon is $2400/yr?

rx7vt 09-17-01 09:47 PM

$640/year, collision & comprehensive w/$500 deductible. '94 touring is secondary car. Primary car is '98 Saturn at $310/year.
Insurance company is Kemper. Maybe it pays to live in the sticks.

vosko 09-17-01 10:04 PM

$1500 year full coverage 20. 93 FD only car on policy. clean record. Liberty Mutual

RICKRX7 09-17-01 11:17 PM

93 touring
1 at fault accident (totaled car)
no reported tickets
family plan (car under my fathers name) w/ all discounts
ALLSTATE insurance

$4200/yr.

they told me that besides the type of car, the high rates mostly has to do with living in the city and not the quieter suburbs.
please find me a cheaper rate guys...im dying here.

rx7eaven 09-19-01 01:14 PM

For the rx7 I would have to pay a little over $250 a month. I am 19 nearly 20 yrs old and have only one ticket, "failure to yield right of way". I pay $960 a year with a 69 tr6 as my primary and the rex is under my dad's name so...I lucked out.
94 rx7 blk r2
