RX7 RAGE 10-23-01 04:29 PM

81k miles.....original motor died at 76k miles due to coolant seals going.

bajaman 10-23-01 08:15 PM

engine miles....

I've got 77K and everything is still like new....(knocking wood)
Absolutely no problems.

My FC had about 137K and never had a wrench on it.

I too always change my oil at about 1500 miles, cheap insurance, I say!:D

RX-7 loving driver 10-24-01 03:07 AM

I hit 15,400 today on my 95' original engine.

rxrotary2_7 10-24-01 05:54 PM

if you are asking about turbo rotary?
2nd gen turbII=2 motors in 82k miles. (2nd motor whas when i bought it and gave it to a friend in need) never got to drive it :(

my first fd was at around 78k when it got stolen.
my current one has about 9k on it. oh wait.....but this one is the 5th motor in 52k miles in this car.....my buddy makes fun and says that instead of rotate your tires every 10k miles, just rotate your motors. but i make fun of him cause he drives dsm's.

bploz RX7 10-24-01 06:18 PM

74k and still pulls hard... ;)

jriskin 11-12-01 05:40 AM

1st Gen (no mods)
0-170k+ 1 motor (sold)

2nd Gen Turbo
120k 1st motor
120-170k 2nd motor (many mods)

3rd Gen
0-32k 1st motor
47k now

If I get 80k+ out of the new one I'll be happy.

49,895 on my first engine. And I have a warranty, so I have to blow up the first one by either Dec. of 2003 or 77,000.....good luck to myself I guess.

Nike178 11-12-01 01:03 PM

32k original mileage on a 93 touring model. Runs perfect.

ronarndt 11-12-01 01:51 PM

100K on second motor. Replaced first at 60K. Previous owner let it overheat- coolant o-rings shot.

GUESS? 11-12-01 03:37 PM

65,000 miles on original engine but its on its last leg. Coolant seal is going bad. Time to rebuild. Good thing I have a warranty.

Brad Fielder 11-12-01 06:03 PM

FD3 9560 miles, and God yes on the original engine. Put 600 miles roughly on the car this year, it's put away under it's cover in the garage for the winter. I'll really break lose and put a couple of thousand miles on the car next year.
Brad

badass7 11-13-01 12:17 AM

17k on 2nd engine. Coolant seals toast on first. Could you do this same poll for Stock Turbos ?? That would be interesting to see how long they are lasting. BTW, good poll. ;)

G 's 3rd gen 11-14-01 09:17 PM

59k so far on first motor.(God I hope I can get 10k more out of her)....Autometer boost gauge, Pettit Unlimited ECU,intake, 3"SS exhaust all the way,Greddy Profec B boost control(running 12psi on high mode), AST, power pulleys,Koyo Aluminum race radiator,Eibach springs, ACT street/strip w/ lightened flywheel, short shifter, hawk pads, magnacore ignition, upgraded boost and vacuum hoses.......change oil every 2k....pray everytime I am at full throttle...oh yea waiting on intercooler...stock moter and turbos for now.....probably forgot something.see ya!G.....

SleepR1 11-15-01 09:50 AM

90200 miles, original motor and turbos

legendrx7 11-15-01 11:12 AM

58K on first motor, coolant seals were starting to go. But before they could finish going, I popped an apex seal and then drove it for another 2.5K miles.

5,500 miles on second engine (I'm stupid, was running 15lbs. on upgraded turbos w/ stock intercooler and fuel. But I blew a highly modded Supra TT off the road right before it blew).

Currently just over 2,000 miles on my third engine. This one better last a while :)

CYM TKT 01-24-02 09:45 AM

64k on original engine and turbos, still running like a champ. I change the oil every 1500 miles and put that XR-1 (X1-R?)stuff in it I think its called. I also use mobil 1 synthetic. only problems I have had so far (crosses fingers) was a bad water pump and some vacuum leaks.

shaqhammer 01-24-02 01:44 PM

60k on 1st motor
2nd motor still hanging in @ 118k:wave:

Crash 01-24-02 05:30 PM

68K on orignal motor in the 93 R1
planning on sending it to XS to have the engine ported and an RX-6
turbo install with a lot of other things:D Just wait on a damn insuance lawsuit to be settled.

sunnyxwala 01-24-02 05:30 PM

sunnyxwala 01-24-02 05:31 PM

oh yah i got 106K miles on the car...i know the car is on its second motor...but i dont know how many miles on it

justin 01-24-02 05:36 PM

Wow it's great to see that maybe all these motors don't self destruck at 30-40k.
I have a 93 w/31k and run boost up to 13.5-14 at times. No oil usage and runs great.

Orange!FD 01-24-02 07:01 PM

No oil usage, Justin?

Mine's a '94, 62k miles on 1st (and only, so far) engine.

Sleeper 01-25-02 06:29 AM

3k on 2nd motor 12k on body 95 PEP

rx7eaven 01-25-02 07:31 AM

78k on car, new engine at 72k

turborotarypower 01-25-02 08:19 AM

original engine died at 70k miles due to the car getting pretty hot on the temp gauge, but not to the point of overheating.the original owner was told the coolant seals were on there way out. 2nd engine has 34k miles and running strong.
