I can't help to notice the progress of my fd, its a huge change in three years. Bought the car completly stock so the first pic is after intake and battery relocation. Dont have any pics of a stock engine.

Before: http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c6...eTheBumper.jpg After: http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c6...-24-05Meet.jpg |
Mine started out as a stock 93 red touring. I then put some wheels on it and a Apex Single turbo etc. etc.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...tham/Eric2.jpg I then totalled it when I hit a tree in PA. I then bought a completely stock 93 red R1. I ripped it apart and completely changed it with a new bodykit, color change, work wheels and a Greddy T88 Turbo Kit etc. etc. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...m/P1240248.jpg It then looked like this. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...tham/blue7.jpg I got tired of the way it looked so I changed it again. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...m/DSC02730.jpg And now it looks like this http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...m/a5e8ea6e.jpg |

I started off buying mine in oct 03 from hinson, before he could tear it apart and bastardize it. It was blown and completely stock, halfway taken apart with some light body damage/attempted repair. First thing I did was put the car back together in stock form and be sure I had a solid platform to build from, electrically and drivetrain. Here it is January 04.
http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/kl...d/DSCF0067.JPG http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/kl...d/DSCF0068.JPG http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/kl...d/DSCF0069.JPG Then I set to work with the body repair and engine modification. After running 4 different engine/turbo setups between now and then (stockport, nonsequential twins; streetport, 60-1; streetport, t04E; and now halfbridgeport, t78) and making a couple small changes to the body and interior, here are today's pictures of what I consider the "final" incarnation. Counting the cost of the car and all the mods, and of course me doing all my own labor, I have about $30k in it as it sits, and I dont think anyone here could build a car this modded for that much. http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/kl...d/DSCF0722.JPG http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/kl...d/DSCF0729.JPG http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/kl...d/DSCF0732.JPG http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/kl...d/DSCF0710.JPG http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/kl...d/DSCF0699.JPG http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/kl...d/DSCF0705.JPG http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/kl...d/DSCF0690.JPG |

Very nice cars everyone of the car but why is everyone going 99'spec? The 99' front bumber isn't that nice, IMHO.

original style bumper is a little out of place with lets say-- a scoot hood and a gt wing with flared fenders, low clearance skirts and a diffuser.. |

99 spec looks much better than 93 usdm bumper, I happen to love mine. It also is much more functional, with larger rad and oil cooler openings. It also is a great way of getting rid of an beat-up old 93 bumper while still keeping an oem polyurethane bumper (vs crappy fiberglass). Oh, and my FD went from 100% stock to what it is now :) |
Good to see all these serial modders out there! Heres my story...
http://www.face2faces.co.uk/RX7/lights/DSC00042.JPG Standard car with blown coolant seals, scratched interior, crappy wheels. Fitted new rebuild kit, rotor housings, end plates etc. New wheels, headlights, so on. Just got the car finished yesterday. All in all, 20 days of solid work on the car. http://www.streamload.com/waspishbob...1/DSC00099.jpg http://www.streamload.com/waspishbob...1/DSC00100.jpg http://www.streamload.com/waspishbob...1/DSC00101.jpg http://www.streamload.com/waspishbob...1/DSC00102.jpg http://www.streamload.com/waspishbob...1/DSC00103.jpg http://www.streamload.com/waspishbob...1/DSC00104.jpg http://www.streamload.com/waspishbob...1/DSC00105.jpg http://www.streamload.com/waspishbob...1/DSC00106.jpg http://www.streamload.com/waspishbob...1/DSC00107.jpg sorry about qualit yof pics! |

Bought it back in January of 2003 when i was 15, i spent all of my time taking it apart and learning how to work on it.
https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...d=163158&stc=1 https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...d=163159&stc=1 I got a job at a 3rd generation specific Rotary shop and learned how to build engines and work on every aspect of the car. https://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a...0_editcopy.jpg https://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a...0_editcopy.jpg https://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a...6_editcopy.jpg http://myspace-955.vo.llnwd.net/0036...60869955_l.jpg I have done 100% of the work on this car myself including building the engine and the entire paint job/body work. |
JHNRX7- well done. that has to be one of the best 7's i've seen plus you done it yourself. wow.
