Does anyone know how to test the a/c compressor? 12v jump? I replaced the relay..it was bad. Fuse is ok. Before I take it to an a/c mechanic, I want to check the compressor.

What is the problem with your A/C?

 

Is your system completely discharged? There's a pressure switch on the system to prevent you from breaking your compressor with no refrigerant/oil in the system. It's down underneath where the battery should be. You should be able to jumper it, but you can damage the compressor by running it dry.

What year's the car? Is it R12 or R134a?
