HELP - Smoke from Turbo
I have an issue where smoke appears to be coming out from my Turbo - Compressor side housing.
I didn't take a good angled picture, but it's not coming from my top oil feed line, but from the compressor housing. This is a relatively new issue where I notice it heavily on start-up and cool-down. Start-up has become bad where over the course of a 5-10 min warm-up you can see a smoky haze with a nox-like smell. Before diving into it, can someone help point out if my turbo is bad or needs new seals? I do have bad hesitation where the I can't go under full load on my high boost setting. (low boot setting for some reason I can wot) I'm not sure if this is somehow related or if it's another gremlin issue. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...dfdab7184e.jpg |
Has the turbo been fine for some time then recently started smoking?
If you pull the intake/intercooler pipe off is there any oil in the inlet or outlet of the turbo? Any play in the turbo's shaft? Dale |
