Ok, the hood wont open. In the hood gap i can see the latch and everything. The hood latch cable is loose, looks like it just came unattached assembly, but i cant get a hold of it. And i cant stick my hand up through the mouth b/c of the intercooler. any suggestions? If someone has a pic of where exactly that hood latch cable is supposed to be attached to the assembly you will become my best friend. pleeeease help asap

 

That's one of my biggest fears with these cars. Knock on wood. Have you tried a stiff hanger that's hooked to try and pop the hand release lever? I'm not sure that it will work, or if the hand release lever actually would allow you to release the hood without the preliminary hatch release, but it's worth a try.

If you think the cable is still attached to the latch then maybe you could try and intercept the cable along its path and pull from there.
I know that it runs from the driver side firewall, along the engine side fender, and the runs behind the battery. You may be able to lift the car up and grab it at one of these locations.

well it is still connected inside the cockpit. it is unattached in the bay. i can see the end of it and move it around with some scissors. thanks for the help though!
