hate my car. boost problems

Hello after 2 years of problems its time for the next one. got my car tuned and it ran fine and 15 minutes after the tuner left i made a full throttle run and then heard a loud "poff" sound and now the secondary turbo only boosts 0.3bar and sounds like an owl when i release throttle. i have checked all the selenoids under the UIM that is left (have the simplified) and no hose is loose or damaged. cant find any leaks in any of the intercooling hoses. sometimes when on 5th gear and i make a run it it gives boost wich is set to 0.9bar. where should i look? im thinking of soaking the car in petrol and light it on.

thanks
Robin

Pull all your boost couplers and inspect them closely. It has been repeatedly noted that it is often impossible to see tears in them on the car. Yours is a classic coupling failure symptom.

i took them of the car and inspected them. all of them are changed to silicone hoses (under the UIM) and they all looked fine and i also blew in them and they all hold the pressure

A few things to check:

* Check both vacuum and pressure side of the turbo control actuator
* Check the hose for the Charge Relief Valve. It sits on the y-pipe just above the turbos and tends to harden and split over time.

you have a bad "charge control actuator".swap it for another one and that sound will go away.

Check the hoses leading to each blowoff valve for tears.

any update on this? I have the exact same problem and I have been up and down my engine 3-4 times still can't seem to figure it out. I have the same noise and symptoms you do, secondary boost slowly trails off to no boost and when you let off it's that big "HOO!!" sound. Could it really be some couplings or hose gone bad?

The last time this happened to me the problem was the hose for the ABV. I inspected it several times but found no indication of a tear.
