Harness Bar Options

Other than the RX7store harness bar what are people using? Ive got just over a month before race season fires up and i need to know my options.

There is the Rotaryextreme harness bar and the Raceshop harness bar.

You just missed the GB on the Raceshop roll cage bar....

You can also see the rotary extreme one sold used in the forsale section.

here is some pics of my Raceshop rollbar/harness bar

here is a link to the groupbuy....if you want just the harnessbar you might want to pm Larry to see if he has just that laying around:

"race season"? What does that mean? If you really "racing", you would have a full rollbar or a cage.

There is no reason to rely on a harness for SAFETY in a car without a rollbar IMO. You can use a harness in conjunction with the factory seatbelt for track events. The harness will hold you in place while the seatbelt will be the actual safety device.

All that said, the Raceshop bar is a good piece.

Race season means solo1. I am well aware of the issue with using a harness and no rollover protection however my rules dont call for it and im not in the mood to "trim" the interior.

rynberg, in regards to using the seatbelt inconjunction with the harness would you feel the factory strut brace is strong enough for this? Basically im thinking if the seatbelt turns into my primary safety restraint then is there real reason to reinforce the strutbar?

neal, you might want to do a search as MANY feel that the factory strut bar is not suitable to support the harness.

For safety purposes, yes. But if you are only using harnesses to keep yourself in the seat better, and are using the stock seatbelts as the primary safety device, I don't see a problem with it. I would personally still buy a proper harness bar like the RaceShop one though...:)
