Got wheels , satisfactory??

Yup I finally got my wheels on Saturday , for all those that flamed at my previous 18s youll be pleasantly surprised, if not then flame away. I got a set of 19x8.5 for the front and 9.5 for the rear. With 275 30 19 rear and 235 35 19 front , Dunlop Sport 9000 , nice looking tire and an awesome ride. Gimme your thoughts. Pics take a while give em a few secs.

I like the wheels :), but 19's are too big for my taste...

Quickfini 04-04-04 12:35 PM

Yeah looks nice, but too big my taste as well. Looks sorta like it's 4 wheelin :D

blueskaterboy 04-04-04 12:59 PM

who gives a shit what flamers think? its your freakin car.

that said, i love mesh wheels. im personally looking to get BBS rgr 17s. not 19s ADR or whatever...

i like the cleanliness of your car though.

XSTransAm 04-04-04 01:21 PM

exactly, if you bought different wheels cause some guys on here said they didnt like them you should be smacked :P no matter what you get somone is going to say they dont like it.

Mahjik 04-04-04 01:34 PM

LMFAO!!! looks good.. Its a biggins though.

fdeeznutz 04-04-04 01:44 PM

I think 19's look sweet on the FD. Just slam the shit out of it like this one.

It looks downright strange, IMO.

OMG! a 4x4 FC!!!!!111!!

zmarko 04-04-04 01:59 PM

Not flaming. Just not my thing. I'd go for a set of light weight 17's

tt2323 04-04-04 02:04 PM

I think most people flame cuz most buy the FD for downright performance...throw some 19's on for the street and swap them out for the track...best of both worlds...now 19's on stock suspension would look gay...

chazzy 04-04-04 02:12 PM

yeah i guess they are just too big for me. But now I've come to start saying "That's why it isn't my car" when I see crap on someones car that I dont like. The 19s look good but seem to big. I'd say 18s is prolly the biggest i'd go.

I love the wheels but not in 19. But as always...To each his own. Have fun!

Vette454 04-04-04 03:06 PM

Heheh thanks for the honest response, I only switched from 18s because the offset was wrong , they sat way to far under the fenders and looked extremely gay, Ill post a pic so you guys can see.

RX7INSAC 04-04-04 03:14 PM

The rims are sick. I do think that 19's look better with a body kit but it looks good.

SpoolinRX 04-04-04 03:15 PM

ADR's?

Vette454 04-04-04 03:18 PM

Yeah the ADR M-Sports Hyperblack

SpoolinRX 04-04-04 03:31 PM

All most got thous, but i went with the Cyphers, in black. I luv em. But good choice thou.

talljosh85 04-04-04 03:46 PM

Look good to me, now an under lip spoiler would just set them off and make it look that much better.

Wargasm 04-04-04 03:47 PM

That car looks like a 4x4.... too big for me, but if you like them - that's all that matters :)

Brian

NukeGenius 04-04-04 05:08 PM

They look nicer than the ones you had before. I like the switch.

Jay7 Nyc 04-04-04 05:17 PM

Looks nice to me, but alil to much wheel gap lower it abit. heh maybe you didnt lower it is cause it'll rub... Alil to much wheel gap for me rather have 18s with the wheels tucked under...
Very nice set overall..

Rx-7Addict 04-04-04 05:33 PM

What wheels are these, what is the weight, and cost? (for 18s)

doncojones 04-04-04 05:44 PM

I could be far more derogatory, but suffice it to say I do not like them. I do not like ADR in general, and I do not like 19s on FDs.

But hey whatever, as the folks who want to patronize you say, "don't listen to them, it's your car."

poss 04-04-04 06:10 PM

I like the way they look, one of my friends was even looking at them, but found out that for a 18X10 they are something around 35lbs. I don't remember the exact weight. :(

Like I said, I like the way they look though, especially the hyperblack.

RX7 RAGE 04-04-04 06:19 PM

goodness gracious...35 lbs?! i can only imagine what a 19" one weighs at.

adam c 04-04-04 06:20 PM

I like the wheels, but not the size. Looks like they belong on a lowered suburban (2wd).

If you like the ride, you must like to feel EVERY bump in the road.

Azaka 04-04-04 06:40 PM

I like the wheels a lot, they just look absurdly huge on an FD. I think even 18s are almost too big. 17s are perfect, but it's your car do what you want.

circuitmagic 04-04-04 06:57 PM

I think the wheels look funny because fd's without body kit or spoiler on big wheels dont look right, if you put a nice kit on the car it will make it look 10x better, as far as looking good, they are a good looking wheel.

Vette454 04-04-04 08:29 PM

They are in the mid 20s lbs range for weight , you can find lighter most definitely but Im not racing , just fast cruising :) I am going to try and lower it some - maybe an inch , there is no rubbing issues right now but we will see once I lower it a touch more. As far as feeling evry bump in the road , youll be surprised how nice it actually rides , I thought it would feel like a gokart too but I was pleased when I put them on.

Mahjik does humor? Since when? Why wasn't I told? I figured Mahjik's humor would be a list of appropriate humorous links. ;) (just kidding Mahjik, you know I love you man.)

Those are some sweet rims though. I really like the look of them, but I'd have to agree with others. I'd like them more if they were 17's, or even 18's. They do look a bit too large.

Sounds like your test ride was on smooth pavement. :)

tiger18 04-04-04 10:56 PM

AWSOME<<<

tiger18 04-04-04 10:57 PM

those rims,,,look the bizz to me,,,,how much they cost?

doncojones 04-05-04 12:22 AM

This is about all I have to say about ADR wheels in general:

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hreadid=290541

maxcooper 04-05-04 12:33 AM

I think they look nice, but are too big for the FD (both aesthetically and for performance).

Light wheels give a better ride, too -- they aren't just for performance. A lower ratio of sprung to unsprung weight improves your ride comfort.

gdnimr0d 04-05-04 07:58 AM

i love the rims man

Yeah! More huge kits and 38' wings! :)

Scrapiron7 04-05-04 08:40 AM

Those rears are 275?? They look awfully narrow to be that size tire.

93BlackFD 04-05-04 08:46 AM

your girlfriend has some fat lips :)

(your car = girlfriend, not ( | ) )

pomanferrari 04-05-04 10:49 AM

It reminds me of a BMW X-5. If you lower it about an inch, it should look OK. The tires are gonna cost you an arm.

pito13b 04-05-04 11:09 AM

Looks good to me. An inch lower and a front lip and its all set.

TwinTurbo93 04-05-04 03:18 PM

I personaly love them, and your car looks great with'em on, if you lower it a bit than would look even better.
Good choice.

lopedl 04-05-04 03:20 PM

those are awesome, I really like the deep dish look.

Vette454 04-05-04 07:42 PM

Yup 275 30 19 on the rear , they are plenty wide :)

jpandes 04-05-04 08:13 PM

They look cool. Get a 99 spec or an R1 front lip too...

SNracing 04-05-04 11:24 PM

they look great, just to big. lowering the car will help though.

RX7SpiritR 04-05-04 11:37 PM

19's are just one size too big for my tastes. But still nice none the less.
