Going Single Checklist
5 Attachment(s)
So I'm going single and I just wanted to make sure I have researched everything before I get going on it.
My car is pretty much completely bone stock in the engine department except I've eliminated the AWS and the AST, plus a downpipe. I've included some pictures of my bay for more details. EDIT: forgot to mention I have a walbro 255lph pump. I'm looking at getting the following: Turbo: HKS cast T4 manifold CompTurbo CT4-6065 Turbosmart 50mm hypergate intake filter Oil & water feed/return lines Fabricate a new downpipe, intake pipe, hot side pipe Mid-pipe Greddy TI exhaust Electronics: Custom AEM series 2 ECU New wiring harness Sub harness for MAP, IAT, wideband, secondary temp in, EGT AEM 3.5 bar map sensor, IAT sensor, AEM inline wideband Cooling: Re-medy waterpump Defined Autoworks V-mount kit Items I'm not sure about: eliminate A/C 36" belt (recommendations?) eliminate air pump Pineapple racing idler or Chadwick idler block off plates (does anyone sell them in aluminum?) new gaskets for block of plates? (is this necessary?) am I missing anything else? Thanks, Josh |
Fuel system... Never heard of comp turbo. Why not go with something proven like a garrett? Why eliminate the ac?

As for comp turbo, I've done a fair amount of research http://www.compturbo.com/. I agree that something like garrett is proven, however after talking to Jason at comp turbo and going over their design, manufacturing, service, technologies, and seeing their facilities (local in SoCal) I decided to give them a shot (was originally going to go with an Aspec turbo). |
360k6 from autozone is the belt you need for eliminating the air pump.

If the A/C is still working and not causing any other issues, don't get rid of it. It's one of those things that a lot of guys eventually regret. "I'm sweating my balls off. Why did I get rid of the A/C again? Weight reduction, riiiight..."
