Fuel injectors option
Well my engine is done. I have below spec compressions and the engine won't start after it is warm. I have been told that since my car is an automatic the torque converter is larger and places more pressure on the rear rotor and that combined with low compression is why it won't start.
Anyways I will be getting a new motor and have been told that I should replace my fuel injectors. I have no mods on the car right now, but do plan on doing the reliable mods when the new motor goes in (rad, AST, vacuum lines, etc). My question is: I do plan on adding some performance mods in the future and was wondering what injectors I should look at getting. I just can't see the sense of replacing the injectors with factory spec ones if I plan to mod the car in the future. What injectors and possible fuel rail can I run right now on the stock motor or possible street ported motor? |
I am running Power FC, DP, MP, Catback, FMIC, and Intakes, 550CC primaries and 850CC secondaries are good for about 330RWHP, but I am at max injector duty cycle at 300RWHP so the fuel pump is the first bottle neck. If you plan on modifying your car about as much as mine is (mine isn't ported) then 550cc primaries and 850cc secondaries and a more powerful intank fuel pump should do it for you, but if you want you can do 850cc primaries or 1300cc secondaries which will get you up to 400HP or so.

You don't need to replace them, send them to RC Engineering to be cleaned and flow-balanced: http://www.rceng.com/service.htm Originally posted by adrenalinjunkie012001 ok so iwhen fitting the 850p 1300sec do these injectors replace the stock ones in the same place? |

Originally posted by Mahjik Unless you already have a programmable ECU, you can't (shouldn't) run larger injectors. You don't need to replace them, send them to RC Engineering to be cleaned and flow-balanced: http://www.rceng.com/service.htm I don't have a programmable ECU so I quess I will look at getting the existing ones cleaned and flow-balanced. I will look to see if I can find someone in Canada to save on the shipping price, if not I will send them to RC Engineering. |

Yep, getting postage back and forth would be a pain in the arse. I'm not sure of any place up there, but I'm sure there are plenty of places that can do it.
