FMIC downsides
I bought a FMIC and installed it, I have heard of different downsides to FMIC large IC's like heat soak, and pressure drop. What do these mean?
thanks
thanks
FMICs dont get heat soaked generally because they are directly placed in the air stream.
SMIC's get heat soaked (usually smaller ones like GReddy or Blitz are prone to this. I have heard good things about M2s SMICs tho) because they are sitting in the engine bay along with all that heat that your engine puts out. The heat "soaks" your IC making it sort of useless. But that usually occurs in stop and go traffic...
There is a HUGE thread on this. Go ahead and search for it. The button is in the top right corner. Just type in FMIC and SMIC...GL!

as cetchup said, theres an overly huge thread on the topic, and it goes very in depth, but to sum it up in a few brief statements:
FMIC blocks airflow to radiator, would work great with vented hood to help circulate air in engine bay, road debris can fauxx up yer fmic, etc.
theres lots of info in that thread
