flywheel issues

im having a hell of a time getting the flywheel nut off, it wont budge no matter what i try to do. is the nut reverse thread, i tried it but both ways are stuck, any suggestions.

The flywheel nut is normal thread not reverse,,, but is torqued up to 400ftlb of torque,,,,, you need either a 6 foot breaker with a 3/4 inch drive or a good air impact gun (toughest nut ive ever busted LOL)

Did it with a 1/2 inch drive electric dewalt but I had to hammer away at it for about 5 minutes

Without an impact wrench, you need something to hold the flywheel in place, and a big breaker bar that is long enough for you to stand on it beside the car. That sucker won't budge otherwise.

Tip....Take a flat end punch, say 1/4" flat on the end, heavy duty punch. Get a good 20oz ball peen hammer. Take the punch and tap at the flats on the nut all the way around. What you are trying to do is break the threadlock so it will come off easier - try it
