Finally put back together ported engine, and finally back in car.

Just thought I would share some pics. I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Here is the engine.

Her are BNR's stage 2, that I installed.

lerch32 12-02-02 09:23 PM

Here is a pic of some of the porting I have done to the turbos.

Before the install.

looks nice man, give us some dyno reports when everything is done

After the install.

I have a mild streetport from Atkins and I believe that you really can tell a difference. Get it on the dyno and get us some numbers.

The pics of your engine bay look great. I am getting my car repainted this winter and I am thinking of doing the engine bay also. Did you do all of the sanding and taping in the bay?

looks like you were able to mount the engine to the engine stand without a special adaptor ? i have the same engine stand and need to mount mine - am i missing something or can itbe done without the adaptor?

(btw, nice looking engine)

I disassembled, and reassembled the engine without an adaptor. I just bought the right size bolts I needed for the stand to attach to the front plate. Just make sure that they are tight.

Bravo! Looks great...did you do the engine high temp paint yourself?

Fd3BOOST 12-02-02 11:57 PM

Looks killer bees Rob.
I am impressed. It's kinda funny though I though I would get mine done first. But since I am stuck buying alot of parts and I did all the porting on the enigine myself It took slightly longer than I hoped.
I'm only shy a clutch and a radiator now.
check my project if you like in the NE area at no pistons .com forums.

Who did the porting? Everything looks clean... I like the black engine bay... might I ask what is the original color of the car? Looks good! Cant wait to see your dyno #'s.

I have done everything to the car, except for the porting. I had Bryan at BNR do that, along with the turbos. The engines are alot simpler then poeple think. Hope to get her to the dyno in the near future. Hopeing for at least close to 400 rwhp.

cool- do you recall what size bolts you used?

its a 12mm x 1.25 bolt i believe. doing the engine that way works, but it is dangerous. make sure you have sturdy equipment. my engine is on the stand being torn apart and one of the brackets is bending!!!! not cool. the rotary engine stand heads are made a way that balances the engine. the engine is very hard to flip if its done this way. if youre doing it once and thats it. . . then by all means do it this way. just be careful. . . that engine stand will tip if not watched.

as soon as you dyno, let us know, im really curious to see how the bnr stage 2 turbos perform. i've heard some good things but then i've heard that there isnt a huge difference. btw, love the color

lerch32 12-03-02 03:53 PM

The car was black.
