FINALLY got it back!!!

after nearly a year and a half, I finally got my car up and running again. Went through "the process". Lots of headaches figuring out what would need to happen next, what parts would need to be acquired, etc. I now have a Power FC, tuned with the rebuilt streetported motor, stock injectors with a walbro 255 FP, and UNFORTUNATELY have the stock Pre-Cat and Main Cat still affixed to rebuilt twins. My car was tuned up at XS engineering, and thus far there have been no leaks, no problems, and its been smooth sailing. I just go easy on it, because the motor only has like 1500 on it, and although it had to be run a bit hard for the tune, I just don't wanna risk anything until I feel like its been broken in, or I have somewhere around 3k miles on it. The idle finally smoothed out, and my dyno shot 242 to the rear wheels. I do have the stock twins, and I asked them to tune for reliability just so I could get the car on the road. I should have opted to get a DP, just for heat issues, but theres no use complaining about it now.

However, I do have some complaints that do worry me. They said my cooling fans were turing on when they hooked the Power FC up, as they weren't before with the stock ECU for some reason. Ever since I've gotten it back, I haven't heard them turn on. I don't know/can't remember how to check them to make sure they're working, or when they kick on. Exhaust smokes a bit at startup, but it just smells like condensation, it clears out after its warm, and then it just feels rather hot by the exhaust. Sometimes, after giving it gas, and letting off, the idle dips down below 500 then catches itself. Its come close to stalling out, but hasn't yet.

After letting it completely cool down, it smells a bit like unburnt fuel under the hood, near the mainfold, scaring me into thinking I have an injector leak which could be potentially very fire hazardous.

Over all driving experience has a smooth, even response with no bucking or backfiring like I was experiencing before, no more stalling out, and what seems like a generally robust (just a bit hot) smoothly running motor.

suggestions? Please let me know, I am stoked to have it back, I just want it running as safe as possible first, and of course want to take full advantage of that streetport now that I finally got a PFC. I really want to hear those turbos spool. Even with the Apex'i N1 its still quiet to me. Ive heard opened up exhausts on rotaries, turbo and non, and I think Im up for the sound challenge. I have earplugs ready to go just in case.

i just had my PFC installed this past weekend and its having the same idle issues. sometimes, mostly when its cold now, it dips when it drops to idel or sometimes if i punch it from idle, it dips then climbs. has been working itself back to proper operation though so i'm not worried. each time i drive it (daily driver) it gets better and better just give it some time. get a dp on there and you'll here the turbos sing a little more. you should definitely get that fuel smell checked out before driving it much more though. make sure you have a fire extinguisher on hand

oh ya, and my stock oil pressure gauge reads near zero when warm at idle and just under 60 when cold. Normal? the gauge is nearly worthless, but it provides some sort of insight I suppose...is this normal? I know the real way to figure it out is to get an actual oil gauge.

and my pulleys squeal like pigs when the car is cold, but are silent when warm. Fixes for anything guys?
