FD Engine

I have two questions, I wonder if anyone could help me with

I am having a Mazda FD3 1993 from Japan shipped to me
I am thinking of buying an engine from an american FD3, what I need to know for that to happen is how much the engine weight?
Also does anyone know if there will be any problem with the ecu harness, with location and such

Best Regards

You'd be better off with a Japanese engine, if you are buying a used engine. They will have lower miles (km), be better maintained, and you can fit one from a later model year that is newer and has reliability updates from Mazda. Also, there will be no wiring harness problems going from LHD back to RHD.

If you are thinking about buying a rebuilt or remanufactured engine, contact a rebuilder and they can answer your questions.
