Only beaten by classics... nice

NoPis10 10-03-10 11:21 AM

AND.. The ONLY Japanese car on the list.....

arghx 10-03-10 11:31 AM

Look through the gallery and you'll see that they are mostly done chronologically. The FD wasn't "ranked" 22nd, but it was the 22nd car in the list.

XLR8 10-03-10 11:45 AM

She'll always be #1 in my heart ;)

RX7 RAGE 10-03-10 11:52 AM

This.

To be honest, I'm surprised the Toyota GT2000 isn't on that list.

moconnor 10-03-10 02:00 PM

Thread title is definitely incorrect. This is a chronological selection of the best 25.

BryanDowns 10-03-10 02:03 PM

Ok thread title is off. Geez... you'd think you guys would just be happy to see we made the list!

I would actually be surprised if it didn't. It's pretty common knowledge that FD's have one of the sleekest bodies made.

theorie 10-03-10 02:36 PM

awesome. it seems the FD always makes it on these types of lists.

It looks like the list is a mixed group. Maybe they were picked by some "desirability" and looks combination. They miss so many much more beautiful cars. No Ferrari Daytona? No Dino? The Figoni et Falaschi Talbot Lago 150 is much more beautidul than the T35 Bugatti, which is made better, but not that hot to look at. Anyway, its good we are on some list.

Gordon

Agreed...and I really don't care all that much for Ferrari's but can't argue with their looks. They skipped so many but put a Citroen on there? Sorry to any Citroen lovers out there, but IMO, that car is in the Pontiac Aztec category for looks. Ugly from any angle.

Tell your girlfriend that she is the 22nd most beautiful woman you have ever seen and see what reaction you get. :)

jacoolv6 10-03-10 06:30 PM

This is awesome!!

ptrhahn 10-04-10 09:04 AM

BMW 507, Maserati Ghibli? Lola T70? Ferrari Daytona?

Appreciate the love, but I don't think the list maker knows enough to be publishing it.

no_more_rice 10-04-10 09:45 AM

The last slide is definitely the most intriguing

otaku85 10-04-10 12:37 PM

I wouldn't necessarily say we're 22nd on the list since there is no number system or countdown being used the Title of the article is "25 most beautiful cars" which kind of implies just good looking cars. I also agree with hondasr4kids where is the toyota 2000gt

93rx74lyfe 10-04-10 12:40 PM

you mean people other than us rotards find the 7 beautiful?

+1, and there are few other japanese cars that could've been in that list, like NSX, MR2 etc. However I think it's a fair list, it has cars like Citroen DS, Alfa Romeo 159, Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, it's not all Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche, BMW etc.

NSX or MR2? Sorry, the NSX looked dated 10 years ago, and the MR2 was never world class, even the day it was made.

They are good looking cars, but not in the "all-time" category.

dvo 10-04-10 02:53 PM

nice find. thanks for sharing!

ksu-chewie 10-04-10 02:59 PM

I sent that to my brother. His reply, "Too bad for you if they ever make a top 5000 most reliable cards, yours still wouldn't make the list." :(

You're kidding right, RX7 doesn't look any less dated then a MR2 or a NSX, now or 10 years ago. If anything it looks more dated due to uber roundness. Don't get me wrong, I love my RX7 and it's design and I don't think that list is about which car aged well as there are new cars on it. It's about cars with great design and only limited to 25 cars which is not enough to fit all cars that has great design.

 True that.

ptrhahn 10-04-10 04:13 PM

^^^

Exactly. Organic, pure designs tend to last through the trends.... the FD could have been made today (with minor detail changes), or in the 1960's. It absolutely outlasted every one of it's contemporaries... even the stuff being made by Ferrari and Lotus at the time.... maybe except for the 911, which was largely the same design through the 993 since the late 60's.
