everybody wants a piece of an FD

wow, i went for a drive (a little street cruising) and EVERYBODY with a sportscar was wanting to race or something. i'm almost blind from all the hi-beaming... i mean everybody from CRX's to mustangs and Vipers to even a ferarri. i was like, WTF? what's with everbody? oh yeah, i also got the nod of approval from several other FD owners, some Spirit R's and some other FD's...

Mdessouki 04-01-05 10:51 PM

we dont have any of those spirit R's over here on the east coast. guess they only got shipped to ca.

moconnor 04-01-05 11:07 PM

Spirit Rs are as common as Civics here in California. Almost as common as twin turbo FDs.

TT_Rex_7 04-01-05 11:13 PM

I dont think so. Spirit R's are right hand drive, and cannot be registered in the US.

Trexthe3rd 04-01-05 11:21 PM

:wtf1: Only 1500 RX-7 Spirit Rs were produced as the last run of the RX-7s in 2002, all are right hand drive and have factory installed Sparco seats with 18" BBS wheels.
And what was the last year RX-7 that maded to the U.S. pray-tell??
What kind of crack are you on?? More common than Civics??

LOL :bigthumb: :bigthumb: :rlaugh:

(ps. you have to have seen his "introductory" thread to understand this)

StealthFox 04-01-05 11:37 PM

and sorry to burst your bubble, but 1. theres absolutely 0 spirit Rs in the US of A. the entire S7's have been deemed unlegalizationable(if thats a word) for the united states, and for you lame brains, thats 1996 and up. not only that, but you just dont see multiple FD's, a ferrari, a car that doesnt exist the USA, mustangs, and vipers on a little "street cruise"

LOL

West TX RX-7 04-02-05 12:00 AM

He just forgot to mention he went on this cruise in his sleep. Nice Dream Brotha!! I hope to dream of Spirit R's, Ferrari's and Viper's tonight. Thanks for the dream inspiration.

Jesuscookies 04-02-05 12:05 AM

All this genius, consolidated into one tiny thread. Who would have thunk it? :bigthumb:

HaHaHa...Werd! There ain't shit up here for cars. (Reno) I get a boner just noticing any rx-7.

PureMdMa 04-02-05 12:16 AM

haha, yeah this has got to be some kind of april fools wet dream.

DaiOni 04-02-05 12:50 AM

spirit R = 's8' (which is, fwiw, australian terminology anyway - not japanese)

trex: the wheels are 17s (17x8/17x8.5), and not all had recaros

DaiOni 04-02-05 12:54 AM

btw, there's a set of spirt-r seats on yahoo at the moment (they pop up now and then) -
http://page13.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/r10436342

currently @ US$1,676 - but only 7hrs left (only good if you have someone in japan who can bid...)

by the way Otaku, I need to mention that we're all cocky bastards when it comes to cars. mostly cause a lot of the guys on here can take down most of anything on the road.

Spirit Rs were never made in the US. the cars you saw were regualr rx7s with spirit R badging and upcrades. the one way to prove their car is a sprirt R is to ask them to show you their identification plate (it is this little metal plate that sits in the well of the door when you open it), every spirit r made had this identification plate to show what number out of the 1500 produced it was.

KrisRX71993 04-02-05 03:45 PM

Id say everyone raised the BS flag on this one.
Lol, especially with lovely "spirit R's are as common as civics" rimark.
Who says that? anyway, people do seem to like an FD challenge. I will agree that lots of people seem to want a piece.

RX7turboracerX 04-02-05 04:13 PM

Why do I have the funny feeling that he doesn't own an fd?

WHIPSrx7 04-02-05 04:56 PM

BTW All FD's are twin turbo...

rotorsownyou7 04-02-05 05:10 PM

^^^^^State the obvious why don't you.

Anyway, what are you guys talking about? I have seen Spirit R's in the U.S. Anyone ever played GT3 or 4?

rx7tt95 04-02-05 05:21 PM

Dude, put your hands in the air and back away from the crack pipe slowly.....

Tenacious 04-02-05 05:55 PM

><

When I was driving my FD about 5 days ago(beautiful day) I saw 5 FD's, 2 ferari's, 1 lamborghini, and 2 vipers(mind you this was a 2.5 hour drive, I just had a new clutch installed and wanted to put some miles on it).

But really I see these cars probably 1 or 2 every day, I see newer aston martins/ rolls royce more often than any of them.

Well, someone had to state the obvious for him. I'm not one to be sarcastic with someone who lacks knowledge about our cars...it's fun sometimes, yes, but at some point they just need a straight forward answer. Besides, you can't always tell when someone's being sarcastic online, especially when you don't know a lot about what they're talking about.
