You've got the jump wire correct, after you have jumped the TEN and GND pins, then turn the ignition to the "ON" position-Not to "Start", look at the check engine light on the left side of the steering wheel-the light will either go out and stay out or will start to flash in a series of sequences. If there is only one code the code will repeat, if there are more than one, they will go in order(numerically) with a short time interval between codes. Long Blink =10's( 2 long flashes=20, 3=30 etc). Short blinks =1's(2 short =2 etc) You'll need a code manual to decipher each fault code, or you can scroll back thru the forum under search and find a downloadable chart of all the engine codes.
Hope that helps out.

A little off topic, but can you still check codes with the Power FC in this same manner? (TEN and Ground)

Unhappy Ther is no check light on 1993- cars

I've spoken to several well informed people today and they all assure me there is no engine check light on a 1993- rx so if anyone knows how to rig up an led to the relavant pins use a multimeter across relavant ecu terminal etc PLEASE help.

I would assume that the '93 (even Euro's) are all pretty much the same aside from some slight changes (like emissions and a few minor other things).

You should see the check engine light on when you put the key in the ignition and turn it to ACC. Here are a few shots of where the light should be located:

Hope that helps...

Mahjik,

Is that finish on your dash the 94-95 finish or is it something else?
I've never seen a close up of the 94-95 but had heard that the interiors are textured, different than the smooth finish of the 93. Just curious.

Hey Frank,

It's the 93 interior repainted with Metallic Black. It looks like a textured finish in pictures but it's actually clear coated and smooth.

I wanted something that was close to the stock black color, but just a hair different. The metallic flakes gave it just the look I was hoping for...

Ok, thank God. The way it looks in the pics looks like a sandblast texture, but now that you explain it I can see it (if that makes any sense?)
Actually, I like the idea, I'd like to see some "not so close up" pics (hint, hint)

Ok, back on topic (sorry).
Can anybody tell me if the PowerFC will show engine codes?

Frank
