Error code guru needed

Hi All,

I'm having trouble with me fd so I've done the error code thing. I've got what I think is error code 11, it gives 1 long pulse and then one short one, waits a few secs and does it all over again. According to the list I have this is "11 Intake air thermosensor (engine)". Can anyone tell me what that is, where do I find it etc. I'd be interested to know how bad a prob that is too.

Thanks a plenty yet again!

Code 11 is indeed the IAT.

The IAT is located on the underside of the Upper Intake Manifold, right in between the "fingers".

Here is the operational range of the IAT as per the FSM:
20degC/68degF : 2.2-2.7k Ohms
80degC/176degF: 0.29 - 0.35k Ohms.

I believe one of the symptoms of this going bad is that the car may be harder to start on a cold engine.

The problem I have is that at 4500 the boost just drop to zero very suddenly. It gives good power and 10psi boost up the 4500 but drops power suddenly at 4500. It also has a bad idle. I'll pick up a new sensor today and see how that goes.

That sensor could cause a bad idle, but would not cause the boost problem you are describing. It sounds like you have a problem with your turbo control system.

Its going to take 2 to 3 weeks to get the part from japan, so I'll leave it till then. The car drives ok up to 4500rpm so I can put up with it for a while.
