I recently had a code 17 (o2 sensor)MIL and upon checking it , the wire had broken off the sensor. So I buy a new generic O2 sensor at Kragen, solder the wire and support it with a ziptie, and install it.

Immediately the car idles better, but after cruising for a few minutes, I get a MIL which is code 16 (Feedback Loop Error). Car still boosts and runs great though, no limp home mode

It doesn't happen when I drive hard (not that the light goes out, but if I boost a lot and drive hard (up the mountain road) before the light comes on, it will not come on under hard driving- only after a few minutes of cruising or mellow driving. Any ideas? I did not reset the ECU before the new O2 sensor install, so I will try that tonight.

 

i thought 16 was the egr is yours a cali car?
maybe im wrong maybe its 12 or some other teen #

Snook..... you are right Code 16 is EGR switch open or short circult.... i have the same problem too. Also i have Code 11 Intake air temp sensor.... And i want to know, is it just replace the Sensor and the EGR switch then it will get fix....???
