Engine wont start please help...

Hi everyone, I havent been on this forum in a long time. I have a 1993 Mazda Rx-7 that has not ran since late 2008. I have attempted to try and see what is wrong with the car but have not been able to figure out what is going on. I believe I blew a apex seal. The last time the car ran, it was driven at a high rate of speed and when the car came to a complete stop, the idle was very jumpy and then it died on me. Since that happened it just will not start. I have taken it to a local mechanic in SE Colorado but no one around here knows how to work on rotary engines. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well start with the basics and do a compression test to get that out of the way. If you think abusive driving was the cause, it probably is. It's beneficial to list mods, ecu etc as well.

+1 for a compression test. Sounds like a blown apex seal by the way you described it. It could Also be that the map sensor hose popped off during wot, it a very common issue.

the local mechanic it was taken to did a compression test and wasn't getting much. Ill have to look up where the map sensor hose is and see...The car has a Apexi Power FC, downpipe, Apexi N1 exhaust, ACT street/strip clutch and a apexi cold air intake. 43k
Thanks

The map sensor hose comes off of the left side of the upper intake manifold. Well if the compression was done properly and compression was minimal.. Sounds like its time for rebuild
