Can someone point me to a site that sells the engine torque brace that has the urethane block on one end?

how is the urethane block attached to the guard? do you have to drill holes to put it on?

 

It attaches to factory mounts, no drilling required. Same for all the torque braces I've seen.

no offense, but those are pretty easy to make and spending $185 on one seems abit too much, Since you can get a Strut Bar for around the same amount. Just go to Home Depot and fabricate one, Its pretty simple.

 

Then...if it is easy, what would I be looking for at home depot in order to fabricate one of those?

Since I'm not sure the best metal nor do I know of how strong it has to be...

So...inquiring minds want to know the best way to do it yourself...since the said torque brace is easy to make

No offense taken.
But I have made plenty of street/race car parts in my life, moneys not a problem and I did not know Home Depot stocked different length tubes with threaded ends, urethane blocks and Hiem joints. Go figure!

I had seen the FEED one. The problem with it from what I understand is since it works like a shock it may be to soft.
I have also seen the one from the RX7 store and it's solid. So it may transmit too much vibration for a street car. That's why, as I said, I'm looking for the one with the urethane block on the end.

Um.. if the Feed one is the Green one... Don't get it.. actually don't get any Torque braces made for JDM FD's. FD's in japan have the ABS unit on the opposite side. On our cars (LHD) the ABS unit gets in the way.. you would have to Fab a cutom mounting bracket and your brace would sit at an angle.

 

FEED one and HPI are nice and YES!!!! The fit the US FD just fine. I have heard of only a couple times a extra washer needed to be added and thats it..

I am the one that put together the torque brace with the urethane bushing mount. Sold about a dozen of them to friends and referrals, the cost was $170+shipping.

I have another local friend that wants one but I am on my last set of parts ... if I sell more I'll need to find a shop that can duplicate the brackets. If you're interested in one I can inquire about having more brackets made, making only one set will up the cost. If others want to commit to them I may be able to make another run and sell them for the original price.

I just got quotes for the brackets and the price must go up, my last batch was fabbed for next to nothing by a friend but this batch I gotta pay a shop to make them. I'll need $200+shipping for this run of ETBs. Anyone that wants to jump on this deal will need to send money via Paypal (kkrutilek@houston.rr.com) or money order; feel free to pm me if you cannot do Paypal. I will wait till the end of next week to collect orders and will then proceed to order parts. Should ship out one to two weeks after that.

If you live in continental US shipping should be about $10 so add that to your Paypal. I live in Houston Tx so if you're in some wacky part of the world talk to me and I'll figure up the ship cost (Australia is expensive via FedEx or UPS, $60+!!).

 

Why so much? What exactly needs to be made?

 

I have two ss brackets made; one out of flat bar that attaches to the UIM and another made out of angle that attaches to the bushing on the fenderwell. This run may require that we bend flat bar in substitute of the angle. The first batch were made by a friend at work and they look great, stainless is so nice. Aluminum would be cheaper and easier to work with, however, the holes would eggshape in no time under these loads.

I also source internally threaded aluminum arms, rod ends that don't rattle, and stainless hardware.

 

For that price i think i gonna make 1. Thanks though
