engine stand..where to get it

I can't seem to find the engine stand that bolt to the hook but is basically a bar that spans the engine bay then it v's out on the ends and contacts the frame rail on top. Basically keeps the engine from dropping when your underneath the car and working on the oil pan or dropping the subframe. I thought RB or Mazdatrix might have it but they don't. Anyone have any ideas since my last resort of searching on e-bay was also fruitless.

Tim

engine hoist.( cheery picker) Thats what I use. It shouldn't takethat long under there. And unless the cylinder is leaking, the lift should not drop the engine down overnight if left.

Also i would think you could have fabbed a bar that uses the strut towers and just bolts to the alternater or somewhere on the engine. Kinda like the RB strut bar with the engine torque brace. You could make that attachment point a tie-rod type. to where you can adjust the height a little bit .

Just my thoughts on the matter of making a special tool.

Another vote for an engine hoist, you can rent one for a half a day if need be...

If you are talking about the SST that prevents the engine/tranny from rocking back on the mounts when the PPF is removed, just use a chain tied around the crank pulley to the swaybar. It prevents the engine from rocking back. However, this SST will not hold the engine up without the mounts - for that you need a hoist. Harbor freight has them new for about $170.
