engine shuts down???

Anyone ever had this problem? I had to drive my car in the rain today. So the engine started to shut off when in neutral or at a stop. But if it's moving and I have my feet on the gas it seems to run fine. Did something get wet, or do I have other problems?

you might have an eletrical short, are you running a vented hood? (actually, youll be the first i think to ever have this problem if your running a vented hood and the rain is shorting something out). try checking your ecu, perhaps its getting soaked when it rains (its in your passenger kick pannel, sometimes when people go thru the grommet near there it will leak when it rains)

No fuel leak, no vented hood, and no engine check lights. The car just dies sometimes. well it stopped raining today. I warmed it up for like 5 mins, then went for a drive. it seems ok now. I think something shorted out when it rain. That sucks!!! I'll have someone else look it over later on. thanks guys

Check battery connection, use some wire brush to clean the terminals.

Does the car just stall or shake a little and tries to keep idle at 850rpm?

Mine does this too, and instead of posting a new thread Im posting here. ITs done it twice in teh past three days, if I push the clutch in and hold it in, the idle drops to like 600 rpms usually. But sometimes I'll just be looking ahead and all the sudden my car is shut off and im like wtf???

IT only happens when the clutch is in though... bad clutch switch?

Are you serious? That's exactly how mine is. I was behind a bus slowing down, so I pulled it out of gear, coasted in neutral for a bit. Then looked down the battery charge light comes on like the way the car would stall if you don't know how to drive a stick. But I couldn't stall, the car was rolling.
So I go and turn the key to start it, it starts right up. strange, very strange.

Also checked my battery cables today too. Looks fine.
