Engine pull
I started pulling my engine this afternoon. Didnt really do much. My next step is to pull the wire harness through the firewall.
This is going to be a big task for me. Im 17 and this is only the second time for me to do major work on the car.(pulled the transmision). I will have some help from my dad but ill probobly do alot of the work myself. Ive gotten some help on what to look out for from a couple of people, but anything any1 posts will be helpfull. |
Good luck and use the shop manuel as a reference. Thats all the advice that I can give you.
|
its easy, im 17 as well, i just took my engine out. about a week ago.
just disconnect the ecu, unbolt the thing that holds the wires down, then i think theres something in the engine bay but i forgot, then just pull it threw, becareful though because there will be some things connected to it in the dash, so just pull it slowly. good luck geoff |
make sure to disconnect the transmission from the engine correctly, instructions are in the transmission part of the manual, if you don't do it right you can ruin your pilot bearing,
oh, and getting the wiring harness back through the firewall when you put the motor back in is a bitch |
|
don't forget to disconnect the oil lines going into the oil cooler, and don't loose the clips
|
Fuel lines as well! Good Luck if your lived by me Id pass by to check it out and help you out.
