Engine Problem

Hey,

I was driving my car today on the highway when this girl tried to box me in. I didnt like this idea so i downshifted to 3rd, (I was going about 55-60 before I shifted. At MOST.) and jumped up to about 70 and got in front of her. After I got back down to a crusing speed, I noticed that my vacumm was bouncing around 10 on my guage. Not a whole not, not even 1lbs either way, but it was bouncing. When I came to a stop, My car died. Idled out. I stared it back up and it died again. I was on the down slope of a bridge so I was able to roll to a drive way and wait for a sec and restared it. It was able to stay going this time but I had to feed it gas really hard. If I didnt, it would have just idled out again and died. I was able to drive to my machanic and hes going to futz with it tommorow I belive but I wanted the experts input.

Vacuum hose? Apex seal? I hope its not the latter but what do you guys think?

Thank you very much. I did search and I did find some clues but I wanted to hear as many opinions as possible. Thank you very much.

Reading your post was like dejavu because this is exactly what happened to me this weekend. Mine died in the middle of a busy intersection. I had to jump out and push the car out of the way. Then to start it I had to use wot. I was able to get it started and into a parking lot. My map sensor hose was hooked up, so I'm guessing that it is an apex seal. I can still drive it, as long as I don't let the RPMs drop below 1500, which is where it starts to shake and then die.

My machanic found coolant on the spark plugs and my compression was low, Like in the 20s for all 3 sides, so I think Im in the market for a new motor.
