...driving home from work today and the power is gone and it sounds like anytime I step on the gas, there is something rattling in the engine bay.

The engine is not idling rough, but when I was running late for work earlier in the day I stepped on it pretty good to past some idiot on the road. I did not hear anything pop, but I guess I am just being paranoid and am pissed off if that one moment of anger blew my engine.

It is a remanufactured Mazda engine with 35,000 miles on it and I have really babied the car...

Any ideas??

edit: oh, and another thing, once I warmed her up, she got to running a little better, but the loss of horse power to start was very apparant. Maybe the blown seal got hot, expanded and it ran better.

I just want someone to tell me what they think...I will be taking it into RP on Monday..

 

Doesn't sound like a bad motor..Look on the firewall at the boost sensor (1 inch by 1 inch black box with a hose coming out of the bottom on the drivers side) and make sure it is plugged in..
