Engine dies while accelerating
Sometimes when my FD reaches 2500-3000 rpm in either 2nd or 3rd gear, the engine suddenly dies on me. I have to cruise to the side of the road to restart. And it takes a few tries before I can finally start it up again.
It's happened twice since I bought it a month ago. And sometimes it won't die but you can feel the heavy jerk as if it's going to die. Anybody have the same problem? How did you fix it?

dude i have had something simular where my car just dies and now its sitting in my drive way i cant get the **** to start...u ever have that problem??? it just sounds like its spinning but not catching??
Is there any pattern to the dieing? Like does it always do it when you're at full throttle, or always when just cruising, or decelerating?
My first thought was a REALLY bad case of the 3000rpm hesitation that was causing a stall, but now I'm not so sure... is that even possible (experts?)?

Yup. It was spinning strongly but not catching. But I might have found the problem.
My car couldn't start again at the post office just now, and I tried jump starting it and it was still just spinning and not starting. We tried a few times and this guy came up and said he never heard anything like that. Looked around and saw my kill switch which I didn't even know was there. Apparently, the kill switch key came loose and that was causing the problem. The guy close all the doors, pulled out and shoved the kill switch key back in, started the car and vrooooooooooommmm...
Hopefully this is the end of it. I don't know if you have a kill switch, but no harm looking for it. :-)
Josh, I think when accelg, the kill switch key sometimes comes very slightly loose, that might be why the car dies suddenly. Will come back to this forum tomorrow and tell you if the problem still exists on my car. By the way, my kill switch is under the steering wheel to the right.
Tell me how it goes...
