Exclamation Engine Check Light

I was driving home from college today and just as soon as I got of the freeway my engine check light illuminated! I had good oil pressure, it was running at normal temperature, and sounded normal.....can anyone give me some sort of idea what could be wrong! Thanks for the help.

If it came on when you got on the freeway, uneducated guess would lead me to believe it's the EGR.

But pull the codes and cross refference them, with Mahjik's link.
