engine blown??

i was driving my fd and she was running fine. i was getting a 18-19 vac and then suddenly the vaccum went to about 12-14 and now she idles really weird and acts like she wants to die. i changed my spark plugs cause they were alittle old and still no help. vac is steadier but still not right. i'm thinking the engine is gone but should i check something else before? i'm planning to check the compression tomorrow to see what it is.

+1 on the compression test. were you boosting or all of a sudden the vacuum just change. look for anything loose under the hood. does it backfire a lot when you step on the gas? Good Luck!
