Very NICE!!! man, you are the man when it comes to electrical stuff.. I remember you with that switch you put in.. So, when do you expect all to be done?? Looks good so far!!

Fatman0203 08-10-04 12:55 PM

I guess thats the new wireharness you made?

Thanks PHIL! I guess it's an occupational hazard

Yes, with the Haltech kit, you get a flying lead harness to play with.

PHIL is talking about converting the blank console switch to a momentary toggle [IC sprayer]...very clean and 007ish.

KaiFD3S 08-10-04 03:08 PM

Daym, I could never do that, that looks so confusing....

great job...

great job...

you can do anything if you put your mind to it...that's what Doctor Emit Brown use to tell me.

KaiFD3S 08-10-04 03:13 PM

That is true, maybe if a time came that I had to do it myself, I would be able to do it...

dubulup 08-10-04 03:34 PM

Time is a must...I'm no genius (<---if that is even spelled right, haha)

What is this?? Your new engines??

dubulup 08-10-04 04:02 PM

just seeing who is sleeping in class ;)

Fatman0203 08-10-04 04:06 PM

Have you tested the harness? It would suck if you put it all back together and you made a mistake somewhere.

yes, I did a continuity check before final wrap. I made diagrams with reference designater #'s from ECU pin # -> Receptacle socket #...Plug pin #'s to senors. It was definitely not something thrown together in hopes that it would work. Here is a pic of my "tool/supply/diagram" box for the project.

nice job, have you played with the e6x much?

THANKS!
Not yet, but I plan to tomorrow. I've read thru the manual many many times in it's entirety. I'm excited about what it's capable of!

I officially bow to you Dubs! Absolutely SUPER job on the harness. You actualized what I'd been swishing around in this ugly thing I call a brain.

Aren't all those pins fun?

Ho hum, 4 rotor FD <yawn>... Don't you know the 3 rotor cosmo is the shiznit? I'm gonna put THREE of them in MY FD (when I.. ummm.. get out of high school and stuff...)

Donning flamesuit over here!

Again, really nice job, and then some!!

MrRx 08-11-04 01:12 AM

So you have 3 26b motor sitting there, how much did it cost you to build those?

And jesus thats gonna be sweet when you get it all done

ejmack1 08-11-04 01:41 AM

question:

Could that wiring harness be manipulated to be used with the PFC?
Is that the wiring harness that comes with the Haltech?
Part numbers on the connector from the engine side of the harness to the ECU side?

Thanks buddy! The pins weren't all that bad, I had a really neat crimp tool to use.

They are not mine, BTW. Just thought I'd throw in some eyecandy.

(1) Yes, you'd have to cut all the wires and make the connector
(2) I wouldn't say a "harness" comes with the Haltech, it's a bunch of wires connected to the ECU plug. I turned the wires into that harness.
(3) see attach.

I have already butchered my harness to only contain the "needed" wires for my setup... I ran all new wiring, and used existing 10 yr old connectors... im looking to add a quick disconnect, and put some new wiring meant for engine use....

dubulup 08-11-04 04:15 PM

^ cool, I remember reading your thread.

I used the 37 pin connector, strictly for "room to grow".

I simplified the harness as much as possible running it thru the connector...I'll go from memory

1 - 12V source
1 - GND
1 - 5V source
1 - AIT
1 - Coolant
4 - Injectors
4 - CAS
1 - O2
1 - sheild termination (for CAS & O2)
1 - ISC

so, it's really not that many wires that "need" to pass thru. (probably missing one or two?!?!)

I didn't pass any of the tranny or ignition thru...they stay in the car when engine is removed. I didn't pass any ECU or Fuel Pump PWR wires thru...all that is in the cabin.

ejmack1 08-11-04 06:21 PM

awesome man, care to share any of your diagrams? especially when wiring in the dash gauges and stuff?
