Electrical Issues
I think it's an electrical issue, anyways :)
What happened: I was out driving and I had slightly raised the boost due to colder ambient temperatures. The fuel is set for for 15 psi, but I this night I drove at around 12 psi. I gave it some full throttle as I had spent most of the day driving and wanted to get some carbon out, then all of a sudden I hit ignition break up, except this time the car shut off and revived itself. A short maybe? The car had a history of ignition break up at higher boost, which is why I keep it generally low most of the time. I was in the South end of my city but took the expressway to the North. I had to slow down for a yield, but when my car's rpm dropped below 3000, it died. It won't start up anymore. What I've tried:
I am currently going through a workshop manual to trouble shoot this issue, but with university back in session, and with me in a different city than my car now, I'm starting to run out of time. I don't want my car to collect dust. That being said, I have searched for threads that may relate to my issue, but have failed to solve the problem. I am pretty sure it's an electrical issue, but I wanted to run it through everyone to see if I can get a mtual agreement on it. Footnotes: - Car won't start - Possible ignition break up could have shorted something - Replaced the spark plugs; trailings foul and leadings don't seem to be doing much - There is still electricity firing out of the plugs - There should still be enough compression to start the engine - The car still cranks on its own Thanks for your time! Oh, mods: Street port, power FC, full freeflow 3" exhaust.. those should be the only modifications that would be important in this case. |
coolant seal maybe?
sounds like what happened to my FD before it took a shit. check your coolant level. try hooking up a battery charger with a jump setting |
The coolant is fine. There is no smell of it, plus my oil is just oil, not mixed with anything else.
