electrical

I recently came to the conclusion that my stock motor finally went, it had a good life though...84,xxx miles. The car never used to have electrical problems but after it blew it has sat for awhile and i could only start it by pushing it down the street and popping the clutch, it would run until it got warm then the motor wouldnt hold idle anymore. I had the ring gear welded to the flywheel cause the motor wouldnt start with the key, a shop welded it and then they got the car started with the key. Now i sit in it with a battery hooked up and if i turn the key to the on position the rpms sit at 4k, not sure why...and when the radio it is on there is a slight buzzing coming from the speakers. It all started out of no where. I had the PowerFC put in and cut the 4 wires that needed to be cut, ive double checked them and the correct ones were cut. I am in the process of saving for a new motor i'm just wondering if i get a new motor in there will everything be ok? The electrical problems never started until about 3 months of the motor being blown.
