A buddy's R1 is throwing a code 16 and 17. According to my sources code 16 is the EGR valve and 17 is the feedback system for o2 sensor. What is the usual cause for these codes, meaning what is most likely the culprit? Is the code stating that the EGR should be replaced or does it simply mean there is some part of the system not operating properly?
Can the code 17 be cured by simply replacing the o2 sensor or is there usually more to it? Any help greatly appreciated!!

 

i got a code 17 before and i just changed the 02 sensor with a new unit. That solved that. I'm not sure about the code 16 however. I would check the vacuum lines and see if those are working correctly.
