East Bear Light Kit Review
I recived my East Bear Light Kit from Wayne @ Phase2Motorsports last night, and I must say that he was very easy to deal with and did a good job keeping me informed on the status of my order.
Now on to the review : It is a very well designed and constructed kit and came with all the nessesary wiring and fasteners. It is a plug 'n play kit it comes with a nice wiring harnes that plugs right into the stock headlight plugs, so no cutting or splicing is needed. The harnes also has a relay that attaches via the supplied connectors to the high beams so the stock lighting controls can activate the high beams. The only modification for fitment you have to do is drill two holes per side into the metal support that runs behind the bumper. These are for the two screws that hold the front of the light cover (grey gel-coated fiberglass) in place, no other cutting is involved. The lights do sit above the hood line slightly and are quite a bit larger than I expected. These are two pluses in my book since it means a better light pattern. Overall I'm very impresed with the quality of the kit. I'll have to get some pics of it this weekend and put them up for everyone to see. |

oh shit.. I forgot about takakaira, and I think I may be thinking about the wrong lights..
I am thinking of the run racing light kit.. http://www.rxecret7.com/runracligkit.html this is the east bear kit you are talking about.. sorry guys, I got confused.... |
I got them for right about $600.
pics can be seen here http://www.phase2motortrend.com/pict...Blight-FD1.jpg |
I just have one question... Is there a cover for this kit(as in the C-west/RE Amemiya)? Doesnt seem like it, just wondering.
|
Aope there isn't.
And honestly it's beter that way. From what I've heard the C-West and ReAmemiya kits fog up. |
not to sound stupid, but what exactly do you mean by fog up? and do both the east bear and c-west kits come with standard size ligts that can be replaced? and which is brighter?
|
Anything looks beter than the C-west kit. :p
|
I'm dying to see the pics. I am strongly considering this kit right now. How long did it take for you to get them? How well do they light up the dark roads?
thanks, |

By fog up I mean the plastic cover over the lights has a tendency to acumulate moisture and fog up. and you have to remove the cover to wipe the fog off. The East Bear kit uses H3 bulbs and the C-West Kit uses Catz fog and drivng lights. the ReAmemiya kit is very similar to the East Bear in that they have the same lights, but the ReAmemiya kit sits lower and a bit of cutting is required to fit them. |
any chance for som low/ high beam pics @night on a long dark road???
also when u click on the high beams is it all 4 light on @ same time, or do u have to wire in a diode to do that? thanks |
does anyone have any pics of an FC with this kit?....good pics.
