Dual oil cooler renewables?
Hey guys,
I am finally getting around to do my 99spec bumper so I figure this is the time to do dual oil cooler. Could you tell me what I should renew while I am at it? I think I have all the hoses and such but of course they are all used. What should I renew while I am at it? I feel like this is something I can source locally through Mazda? I tried Googling. 99582-2200 I didn't get any. Where do you guys buy parts online? TIA |
How many miles on yours? Probably nothing to refurb, unless they're leaking or showing lots of wear on the lines. Might get in there and straighten some fins out. And you might want to pick up the r-magic oil cooler ducts, which fit better with the 99 spec bumper skin.

the hoses are rather sturdy, i haven't ever seen any FD cooler lines fail from normal wear and tear. road obstacles on the other hand...

I have the R Magic cooler ducts. Ordered them a few months back. Where do you guys buy your parts? |
Check Atkins for the part numbers, then check at Quirk or Tasca to compare prices and availability.
Some items that are available at Atkins, may not be available at OEM dealers. |
You may also want to send the coolers out to be cleaned

Straighten fins, add expanded metal debris guards, fix/replace ducts, inspect connector o-rings for flattening/damage or just replace them all with new Mazda o-rings.

Can someone tell me the part numbers for the o rings?

Mightymike,
You could recondition the oil coolers. See this link https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...s-info-382612/ for more info. I did it a few years back. The company is certified by the FAA and they also slap their cert sticker on your coolers when done. I'm glad that it was done. I had them installed last year during my engine rebuild. So i am unaware of all the parts and o rings that are needed. Cheers, George |
