Yeah, thats what i thought the conversion was, but i thought something was wrong with my calculation when i found 188hp at the wheels on a stock fd.. that IS pretty low for a stock fd.. :(
Except you're thinking of a stock US FD and not one from Australia. While a stock US FD had a 255hp rating, the Series 6 FD's built for Australia were rated at less hp, something around 237hp or so. That accounts for most of the discrepency. I also recall that the rpm limiter for their 5spds was at 7k rpm unlike the 8k rpm for US 5spd FD's(although US auto FD's are 7k rpm)

Still, don't feel too sorry for them as they got the RX-7 SP model as well as the ability to import any of the newer Japan FD's for a price.

No, it's not low - right on the money actually...

this is Rear Wheel KW, remember, and our Dyno's read approx 17% (I think it was) lower than yours.... mentioned in another thread .

You're right, didn't realize about the dyno difference. In that case, a healthy FD! Also shows that a downpipe adds 15-20 rwhp on an otherwise stock FD.
