not good, sounds like the worm gears are stripped. Your options are Cusco(hi dolla), Mazdaspeed(hi dolla 2), Kaaz(cheaper but still expensive, I have one) loud and untamed, or 2nd gen viscous diff from the GTU I believe, do a search, you'll find something. Good luck

If you go with the TII diff, you don't want the viscous one, you want the clutch type. If you go that route, you want a 87-88 TII LSD. They are supposed to be almost as strong as the Kaaz. I just picked one up, but have yet to install it so I don't have any first hand experience.

sorry, I knew it was for a 2nd gen, just didn't remember which one. Wished I had known the 2nd gen diff woulda fit before I blew $900 for the kaaz 5 years ago.

Not sounding all to hot really. Gonna have to assume the whole thing is dead i think. Major expense..... Tried to get the inspection cover off tonight but one of the top bolts is a no no.
Looks like im gonna have to go back to a stock one again and uprate the lsd when i can afford it.

Damn.

Next fun job is gonna be removing it with only axle stands grrrrr..
