Cracked something on upper intake manifold
 

Hi guys,
I'm finally in the process of doing the rats nest. As I was taking off my upper intake manifold I broke off this stud like thing a hose was connected too. Its under the electrical thing in the front portion of the upper intake manifold. Here's a pic of it

I circled it green in the picture. Would this be an expensive fix? I already bought speakers and a downpipe for my fd and low in money right now.

That is the turbo precontrol solenoid.

New it would cost you around 150.
You can find one used in the for sale section for much less than that (~25)

Do yourself a favor and get a highres copy of the vacuum diagram.

Whoa 150?!?! Is there anyway to check if a used one thats for sale is in good condition? I'm kind of worried. I'm going to go check the for sale section right away!

While you're at it theres a couple very good writeups you might want to take a look at.

One is by dale clark and details doing the rats nest vac hose project, the other is by degeesaman and is a detailed writeup on how to test each solenoid and part in the sequential system.

Both are well worth the read.
