cooling system problem

having a coolant problem. when i turn on my car my add coolant light stays on until the car warms up. when the car has cooled down there is never any coolant left in the overflow tank or the AST. i know it is not consuming coolant because the resevoir will always stay at the full mark. if i add coolant the the filler to the overflow then when the car warms up it just dumps alot of extra coolant which further tells me im not consuming coolant. i don't get any white smoke on startup or while driving so i really don't think this is o-ring failure. why would the light stay on until the car warms up. also sometimes the light will go off but if it idles for a long time it will come back on. i'm going to replace the lines from the resevoir to the overflow tank and the hoses to the AST because maybe they're not holding vacuum so they're not sucking coolant back in. but i don't thin kthat this is the reason they're doing this

you could have a bad coolent seal still, when mine went a month ago, it was pushing small amounts of combustion gas in to the coolent system that was causing the coolent to be pushed out the overflow tank. Thats just a thought. Also make sure your radiator is not leaking,it usualy leaks at the top.(atleast my last two have). And screw the AST I elimanated it.
GEt your-self a radiator filler funnel and hook it up and burp all the air out of the system. Hope this helps

I'm also experiencing the same thing with my coolant light. It's almost identical in problems and situation. Any more suggestions? I replaced my stock radiator with a Koyo, and it probably has less than 12k miles on it. I also replaced my AST with an aluminum one just for clarification.
