Question Computer?

I am looking for a new computer. Just dont know what to get a standalone or a piggyback. There is no one around in Knoxville tennessee that I trust to tune my car. If I go with m2 computer and tell them my mod what if I decide to do more mods will I have pay m2 to retune it? I am not able to do all of my mod at once but I will need a computer after my full exhaust. I am planing to do upgrade my turbos or do a single turbo. I dont want to send my computer to be retune. If I go and get a standalone I wouldnt have anyone around to tune it. Are there any mod settings for any computers? AEM says that they have a forum that has people with there settings for there mods. Is this true? If so than would I really need to get on a dyno with a wideband? Could I tune it with a wideband a/f meter? Please write back?
Thank you guys for your hellp

Get a Apex power fc.I think it comes with a base map of intake, upgraded intercooler, and full exhaust.

The rechipped ECU's like Pettit and M2 are just preprogrammed MAP's. M2 has 3 stages for their MAP's (and M2 as a company is gone). They are NOT tuned exactly for your car (which is not necessarily a bad thing).

Before picking an ECU, first decide what your goals are for the car. Once you have that in mind, it will be easier to pick what will work best for you.

Given your goals for the car (single turbo), you will need a standalone ecu. I strongly suggest the Apexi Power FC (PFC). There is no such thing as a fit-to-order map for advanced modifications like a single turbo. The ecu must be tuned using a wideband and datalogging software (like the FC-Datalogit for the PFC). There are tuners like Steve Kan or Brian Cain that travel around the country and tune ecus. You usually need a group of 5-6 people in your area for this to happen. Or you can use the tuning guides out there and start tuning the car yourself (be careful!).

Thomas, there are probably a few people in the TN area who can get you started. For starters, I would call and talk to Garfinkle at 1-615-893-4469 and tell him what you are looking to do and see what advice he can offer to get you started.

IMO, the first thing for you to do is to figure out what kind of local support you'll be able to get for whatever engine management you choose. Waiting on internet help or having to travel long distances for help may not be ideal for you.
