Cold starts = Sh*tty Idle.

Every morning after the cars been sittiing for 8+ hours when i start it up the car idles at about 2K to 2.5k the tappers down ( ACW ). The the idle goes to about 1.3k and it idles lumpy and feels like it missing.. As soon as i drive it about 2-3 mins the idle is back to normal and the car drives fine.. i have new magnacore wires and new plugs. my idle sits right at 750-825 after the car is warmed up... Acceleration is fine, car makes power. any ideas? could it be a problem with the ACW system? im lost with what to do since it only happens after the engine sits and goes away after the system is warmed.

i am suffering from a similer problem. When i start my car up it sits at like 3k and with a tap of the gas it will come and sit down at like 1.5k. If i'm lucky it will go down to 1 or .8k, where it should be. But after i run it for a while and its all warmed up, i'll go to start it and it will spike then fall down and die. So i have to start it up again and i have to play with it untill i get going then it will sit at normal for like five min.

I am going to have an RX7 teck look at it because i have searched all over and have gottn to many different responses. So when i get it fixed i will let you know and maybe it will help you and some others out.

I get the lumpy idle on cold start up as well. Always have. My systems is stock, so I always figured it was part of the warm up procedure, like maybe it's dumping fule in to heat the precat (that is no longer there on my car).

Anyone else have this?

its a very common problem, probally due to the fact that our stock ecu runs much richer under 180 degrees

its not a problem with our cars. all the fd owners i have ever talked to/met has the same thing. i guess it an enrichment mode that our cars go through on cold starts. i had a post about this a while ago. if you search you will find it.
