Cleaning the engine

How do you guys do it? On a piston engine I usually sprinkle water and grab a bottle of Simple Green then start scrubbing away. Any reason to be nervous about doing it the same way on the 7?

I've seen varying opinions, but this is what I do...
If it's really dirty, I cover the fuse boxes with plastic grocery bags and use a pressure washer on a cold engine ...being a little careful not to spray directly into the solenoid rack under the UIM. Sometimes I just wad-up a couple of bags and stuff them lightly under the UIM for a little added protection for the solenoids and silicone hoses to direct pressure. Then I use compressed air to blow 90% of the water off. Start the motor and let it come up to temperature and wipe everything down completely. I don't use de-greasers.
Doing it this way since I owned it and no issues.
