Check Engine Light

I have a 93 Mazda Rx-7 i just put on a HKS Hi-power Exhaust. It has 74k on it and its Automatic. After i put the exhaust on it as i drove it home i had a check engine light. So i turn the car off and restarted it. That was week ago. Today I started it an drove it and it and it came up again. I just want some insight on it so let me know what you think it is. I'm new to the rotary game so i need some other opinions.

I bet its code 16.. (egr) but you can't be sure until you pull the code. I have the same problem every now and then. get it checked asap and report back to us.

just get a paper clip and short the TEN and GND in the diagnosis box, then turn the key to on and record the codes. You can also reset the ECU after that and drive the car around for a while to see if engine light still comes on.

the code

I got a code 17 from the car its say something about a feedback system but thats it. Do you guy think it has something to do with the temperature. New York is really cold right now And the car has been turning its self off after cold starts so i don't really know. By the way how do you clear it so you can see what happens with the next one.

You should have no problem looking it up in the Engine Control section of the factory service manual. You can download it - follow the link in the sticky thread at the top of this forum.

If you have a Power FC with Commander, does the check engine light have any function?

If you rewire it using Dale Clark's method it does.

Well, it says "feedback system for O2 sensor", so I'm assuming it has something to do with the oxygen sensor.
